Just last week our grades 3-5 NFS chorus performed at the All City Spring Concert at PHS. We had a record number of students performing at the concert (100 kids in total!!), so thank you to all the families who supported their children in this performance. All 100 voices sang together with the upmost class and musicality. I especially commend the students on their appropriate audience behavior before and after their own performance. I have received several compliments from teachers, parents, principals, and community members on the caliber of their performance, so thank you again.
Last night our grade 5 band performed in their last band concert of the year. They played three pieces, which challenged them in different ways. Not only were they able to learn a new musical instrument this year, but they also have developed their techniques to be able to play some pretty complicated songs! I look forward to marching around the school with our NFS 5th graders on the last day of school. There is no better send off for them as they venture on to middle school. Congratulations to all of our 5th grade band students on a job very well done.
The end of the year is always a great time to reflect on the students musical growth, and I am lucky enough to share their growth in the form of public performances. Thank you all for being a part of your children's musical journeys this year. I look forward to many more with you all.
